3 Month Checkup

At three months, Cora is 25 inches long and weighs in at 14lbs 1oz. Not quite sure what happened with the height, either they were off last time or this time. Who knows. Still 97th percentile for both height and weight, 50th percentile for head circumference. No shots today!

3 Months Old

Dear Cora,

You are three months old today! It's pretty amazing to watch you grow more capable and coordinated every day.

This month, you celebrated your first Valentines Day, which also happens to be Daddy's birthday. I had fun trying to get a picture to send to our family, and you had a ton of fun pulling the sign up to your face so you could eat it.

This month, we had some unseasonably warm weather and spring came early. You got to wear your very first dress and you looked so cute!

This month, you rolled over from your stomach to your back, which is pretty fancy, but you mostly do it while naked. You actually enjoy tummy time and will tolerate it for a long while before getting fussy. You really enjoy hanging out on your activity mat now; before you would be too overwhelmed with all of the toys, but now you get so excited to spend time there.

This month, you are still a wonderful sleeper. Daddy and I keep wondering if you'll grow out of this, but so far, you just sleep like a champ. You are asleep for the night around 9:00pm and you don't wake up until 7:00am. You still take 4 naps a day, but they tend to vary in length. I'm still trying to figure out your day-time sleep patterns.
One, two, three!

This month, you started giving us kisses. At first I wasn't sure if you actually knew what you were doing, but you do it so often now, I'm just calling those wet, open mouthed, slobbery things kisses. They are so super sweet.

This month, just like last month, you love bath time. It may just be your favorite part of the day. It's so fun to watch you kick and splash in your tub. You are going to be giving us a bath when you get bigger.

This month, we packed up your 0-3 month clothes to send down to Camarillo for storage. It was bittersweet, but you are solidly in 3-6 month clothes, wear size 2 diapers when we use disposables, graduated to the medium snap on your cloth diapers, and your hair is brown but it's beginning to thin and get lighter. Your eyes are a deep, dark blue and I wonder what color they are going to turn next.

Heading for storage

Looking so much like Daddy

Next month, I'm so excited to see how you grow and what new skills develop. I keep wondering when time is going to slow down a bit, but it seems like every month just goes by faster and faster. I'm learning how to slow down, turn off the electronics, and enjoy these sweet, fleeting moments. I even let you nap on me instead of in your crib.
So sweet.

Daddy and I love you, Cordelia Lynn. We simply cannot imagine life without you!
